Press Release SLW visits Senior Citizen Home Safety Association in Kwun Tong The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, this afternoon (September 4) visited the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association to see how it operates and to better understand the needs of the elderly. The association is a non-profit-making and self-financing organisation which was set up in 1996. The Executive Director of the Association, Mr Timothy Ma, briefed Mr Cheung on the various services provided by the association, including the 24-hour Personal Emergency Link Service, the Elder Ring Hotline Service and Friends of Institutionalised Elders at Private Home for the Elderly. Mr Cheung toured the operating centres of the Personal Emergency Link and Elder Ring Hotline to see how personal emergency support and caring services are provided to elders living alone, to people with chronic illness and those in need through the call bell system. He commended staff and volunteers of the association for their commitment to promoting the well-being of the elderly through the provision of a wide spectrum of services. Tuesday, September 4, 2007
