SLW welcomes agreement reached
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, welcomes the news that an agreement has been reached between employers and workers of the bar-bending industry at the conciliation meeting convened by the Labour Department tonight (September 12).
Mr Cheung said, "I am pleased that a consensus on the reference wage rate and working hours has been reached through mutual understanding and a rational dialogue between both parties."
He commended colleagues of the Labour Department for playing the role as the conciliator in the past few weeks and successfully settling the labour dispute.
