Press Release All-out effort to communicate with workers and employers of bar-bending trade In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Labour and Welfare Bureau said today (August 19) that the Government is highly concerned about the bar-benders' industrial action. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, and the Labour Department have been trying their best to communicate with both the employees and employers and mediate the dispute. "We hope that the bar-benders and their employers would show mutual understanding towards each other to narrow their differences. We also hope that the bar-benders will resume work as early as possible," the spokesman said. Sunday, August 19, 2007 - Index -
