6 Videos to showcase the good practices of the Inclusive Organisations

The Charter Scheme introduced the Friendly Employment Award for Inclusive Organisation and the Outstanding Mentor Award for Inclusive Organisation in 2016-17 to give due recognition to organisations for their efforts in employing persons with disabilities or encouraging their business partners to employ persons with disabilities and to pay tribute to outstanding mentors of inclusive organisations who assist employees with disabilities in coping with difficulties at work and integrating into the work team. Representatives of the following outstanding awardee organisations were invited to share their experience in facilitating the employment of persons with disabilities.

(1) Dazzle Entertainment Co. Ltd
Helping others is to help oneself


Dazzle Entertainment Co. Ltd is a self-financing social enterprise. The Company offers a platform for sustainable employment to the hearing impaired, who will become new manpower in the industry. The Company adapts "First-Hire-Then-Train" approach to provide on the job training on stage production, venue decoration, etc to the hearing impaired employees. The training enhances the skills of the hearing impaired employees

All-round implementation of inclusive measures in the workplace


Towngas’s employment policy is to place staff in appropriate positions. “Employment Based on their Abilities” is the Company’s principle. It encourages employees to respect the diversity culture within the Company. It also made good use of the diversified business within the Company to offer various positions to the persons with disabilities. The Company also shares its experience in employing persons with disabilities to other companies, with a view to influence other employers.

Hair Rejuvenation makes good use of deaf people’s calibre of being concentrated at work. The Company employs deaf people to work on scalp maintenance, and provide them with a 3-month training. The Company arranges professional instructors to provide monthly training to keep the deaf employees abreast of the latest knowledge and technology in the industry. Personal guidance on the scalp treatment to individual employee is given to enable sustainable employment in this industry.

(4) SAHK B M Kotewall Memorial School
Experience Inheritance.Strength Development


SAHK B M Kotewall Memorial School cares about the adaption of new staff. The Staff Development Team of the School coordinates a Support Programme for New Staff. The School arranged a therapist to train Chi Ho (an employee with disabilities) the relevant working skills on the school bus. In addition, with the experience of library management, another mentor was responsible for teaching Chi Ho the various works in the library.

Caritas Computer Workshop makes suitable adjustment to different employees, which enables Eric (an employee with disabilities) to develop his talent and use his knowledge learnt from VTC. His mentor, Mr. Lee, also serves as a bridge between the Eric and other colleagues, with a view to have a team work environment and all members are respectful to each other. Effective communication is important for team building and inclusive workplace.

(6) Maison Platinum Service Company Limited
Suitable Vocational Training.Gardening Career Developing


Mr. Cheng, Landscape Supervisor of Maison Platinum Service Company Limited is the mentor of Ar Hong and Ar Fu (employees with disabilities). At first, Mr. Cheng assigned them with some simple tasks at a fixed location. After adapting and familiarizing to the work, they were deployed to work at different positions. Apart from his work experience, Mr. Cheng also share with them how to get along with people and to develop a positive attitude.
